Safety in the Neighbourhood

Stay safe pic for Rosemont Community

Here are a few resources to help keep your property, family and neighbours safe. These have been provided by the Calgary Police Service

During these uncertain times, crime typically increases, both residential and commercial. Ensure that all of your car and garage doors are locked before going to bed, all of your belongings are secured and if you see something suspicious, report it. Please contact the police using the contact numbers below:

Crime In Progress: Emergency calls: 9-1-1
Otherwise: Non-emergency calls: 403-266-1234
Hearing impaired line (24 hours): 403-538-6147

In addition, please email us and we can forward these directly to our neighbourhood Constable so that she is aware as soon as possible.

Tips to Stay Safe

  • Make sure you lock your front door, back door, sheds, and garage man door, and ensure your garage door is down.

  • Make sure your driveway and front step are shovelled, and newspapers picked up
(When you leave town and don’t have someone leave footprints or shovel, bad guys know you’re not home)

  • Never leave your garage door opener in your vehicle.

  • Always report any crime

  • Lock your vehicle and remove all valuables.

  • Look out for your neighbour’s property (watch for suspicious vehicles in your area)

  • If you see someone car prowling or lurking in a neighbours back yard – call 911.

  • Leave a light on inside your house with a timer.

  • Keep your residence lit up (motion lights/house lights/cameras)
