Blanket rezoning is up for debate and voting this week at Council. I would like to take a moment to discuss Rosemont Community Association’s (Rosemont CA) position on the topic, what we have submitted to Council and provide a summary of my meeting with the Mayor this past weekend.
Rezoning Feedback Summary
We have consolidated the feedback that was provided to us at our open house and via our online form. We will submit this feedback to the City and our Councilor. Click here for the summary of what we heard.
Some other Community Associations asked if Rosemont CA wanted to be a signatory to a letter asking Council to vote against the blanket rezoning proposal. Based on this feedback, the board decided that it is generally in alignment with what our residents want so have added Rosemont CA as a signatory. Click here for the verbiage of the letter for residents' reference. We encourage all residents to get informed on this issue and provide their feedback on it to Council.

About Rosemont
Rosemont, built in 1958, is located in the northwest quadrant of Calgary (bordered by Northmount Drive, Cambrian Drive, 23rd Avenue and 14th Avenue) and has about 1,200 residents. Confederation Park, Nose Hill Park and the pathway system are in close proximity and provide year-round recreational opportunities for Rosemont residents.
